About Me

Making the decision to go back to school 13 years after earning my Bachelor’s degree was not an easy one. Thoughts of fear invaded my mind, what if I can’t keep up with the rest of the class? What if I don’t have the time to complete the coursework? What if I don’t succeed? Undoubtedly pursuing a degree is a commitment of time, energy and money that you must be willing to make if you want to successfully complete your program. Allowing yourself become paralyzed by fear of the unknown will rob you of the fantastic moments you will experience if you give yourself a chance and put yourself out there.

Transitioning to college can be overwhelming, especially for adult students juggling a full-time job, family, friends and other responsibilities. In my current role as an Academic Success Counselor in higher education, I often tell my students that there is never a perfect time to go back to school. Life very seldom gets less complicated. On the contrary, as we get older our lives become more complex and more demanding.

I chose the name Never2Late4Edu  because I absolutely believe that it is true, and I have high regards for the value of education.  There is no better time than right now to pursue your dreams, to change your life and to become who you always knew you could be. Earning an education can get you there. When you look back at the person you were when you first started your educational journey, and the one you became after, the sense of pride and accomplishment will make all the sleepless nights worth it.  And as you walk across the stage on graduation day, you will be joining an elite group of professionals who like you, decided to take a chance, to make the sacrifices, and to improve their lives through education.

I am confident that creating my own Personal Learning Environment (PLE) will keep me focused, engaged, and motivated throughout the program.  It is also a valuable way to integrate technology into learning facilitating an environment in which I can explore with technology and enhance my current skills.  Reflection is an important activity in my life, it helps me to better know myself and enables personal development.  Being able to keep track of my educational journey throughout the online Masters of Education program will help me reflect on how much I have grown as a result of it.  I look forward to sharing this experience with you!
